Re: Molly Maquires

Check out the 1970 Sean Connery movie of the same name. "The Molly Maquires" - Story of Irish immigrants working the coal mines in 19th century America. Connery leads the rebellious miners; Richard Harris is out to catch him.

Re: Molly Maquires

If you guys are into the Molly Mcguires, you should really visit schuylkill county. The movie is based off of all our towns. Its pretty neat to see the different landmarks left (some of their meeting houses got turned into bars but what could you expect) Hibernian house in Girardville, Wooden Keg in St. Clair. Also a monument in mahanoy city thats pretty cool

I am blood related to some of the main characters of the mollie story on both sides of the coin...Have a gun that the mollies used that ultimately got them hanged..

Re: Molly Maquires

PA has a rich history with this subject. I have Irish coal mining relatives on both sides. One from Girardsville, and one from Shamokin. I was raised in Phila., and have never been to these places. They are on my bucket list.
