Hawk

The other day, on the way to work, I saw a red tailed hawk sitting on a wire along the road-side. I go a pretty good look at his animal and I thought to myself that this was pretty cool and noteworthy. That afternoon on the drave home from work I was about a half mile from that area where i spotted the hawk and just like that there was a hawk flyig along side my car on the drivers side no more than 10 feet off. I did a doube take and man it was spactacular. He flew along side for a good 50 feet keeping pace with me. I actually became concerned that an oncoming vehicle and the bird would have a close encounter of the worst kind. But then he just kind of pealed off into the woods. I have had a lot of memorable encounters with wildlife while on foot but this was the coolest I have ever had while riding in a car.

Good night Chesty, wherever you are......

Re: Hawk

Hah, I was out and about the other day and saw a manure spreader making it's way across a snowy field, being followed by dozens of turkeys.

Re: Hawk

One night I was watching a football game when I heard something screaming in the back yard. I got up and hit the light and looked out. There was a full grown great horned owl locked onto a rabbit in my yard. Absolutely the coolest nature thing I've ever seen in the yard.

Hunting: 10% skill and 90% location.
