How long does paint last?
So, I needed some white paint to do the trim around my door. I was gonna buy some but I discovered a can in the basement that must have been here when we moved in 9 years ago. It still seemed to be mostly liquid, so I shook it up, pried the rusty lid off, stirred it and tried to paint with it. It was weird, like watered down paint with white sand in it. I didn't get far before I realized that this mixture of texture paint and turpentine wouldn't do, but what was I to do with almost a full gallon of this stuff that was past its prime?
I noticed that all the storm sewers in the neighborhood were kind of rusty, even tho they are made of really heavy steel. So, I painted about 14 of them before I ran out of this substance that was formerly white paint.
I'm sure the borough will thank me for that. I was just gonna dump the stuff down the storm sewer, but now all the sewers in the neighborhood have an off white textured look. It definitely jazzed up the street a bit.
