Halloween treats

What's everyone giving out this year?

My daughter get's about 80 beggars at her door every year. I get about 10. So this year I'm going with my two favorites. A scoop of mash potatoes or the organic spinach chews.

When you are up to your butt in alligators, it is hard to remember your intent was to drain the swamp. Stay focused!

My kids are more excited about the fact that we will have trick or treaters coming to the house for the first time in their lives, than they are about going out themselves. They did a little decorating outside, have about 250 pieces of candy ready, and I'll have a fire going.

They've only ever trick-or-treated on base in Germany, and in the 13 years living there we've probably had less than 10 kids come to our house when we got home. In some areas, especially where there is a large American presence, the German kids are just starting to get into trick or treating. But in the on-base housing areas, it's a mob scene. The housing residents set it up like an outdoor party atmosphere and make it a lot of fun. EVERYONE goes to the areas where the O-6s and higher live.

People are sick of politicians, and me, I hate cats in the house.

Well in PA for tomorrow, I think rain slickers should be handed out. Going to be miserable weather. My son (11) was already on the fence about going. Wife usually walks around with the kids and I usually stay home to drink spiked warm cider and hand out candy.....with the high winds predicted, I probably won't even be able to put up my 12x12 canopy....
