Forever grateful for what these people did.

God Bless America.

Still doing a lot of reading on the French and Indian War and developing an even more profound respect for the people and politics of that time and how they influenced the creation of this country. The native Americans, a people who had not even invented the wheel when Europeans came ashore, were thrust into a military and political dynamic that they were able to navigate for a long period of time, only because they already had an established civilization and a very complex and well oiled military and political and diplomatic infrastructure in place. Sure it was different, but make no mistake, it was every bit as complete and formalized and well run as anything on the European continent.
The processes, the accidents of human nature, the economic and religious constructs that messed and did not mesh in the building / founding / creation of the United States are, to me, astounding. I guess it's like that with every country; but this is the one I choose to learn more about.
