I can see it being described as many things depending on the sensitivity level of the person/s being bullied and the action/s of the bully.
Some people break up when they are told that they are wearing the wrong clothes = HS girls for example.
Some people can not handle it when the 4.0 they have carried at Penn State for 3 year becomes a 3.9 = darn that bully Calculus class.
Some people feel belittled when they are pulled over by a police officer because they have a defective break light = ?
Some professional athletes feel bullied when another athlete makes a billion more dollars than they do = Odell Beckum
Some husbands feel bullied when the wife tells them to take out the trash = yes, i actually knew a guy who pouted over just this thing. Key word in that sentence is "KNEW".

It really does not matter if the so-called bullying is on the school bus, written words over an ipad or coming from a genuine nut-job ruling North Korea, because bullying depends on perception of the object being "bullied" and in the end - what the response is.

Love to see real bullies get surprised.

Teenagers have killed themselves over cyber bullying. It occurs when person A, possibly the popular kid, goes on social media and throws insults at person B, possibly the not so popular kid.

Others want to get in on the act because they may think it's funny or they too want to be hurtful. Next thing you know, person B thinks everybody at school is laughing at them or dislikes them.

The end result might be a kid going to school with a weapon to settle the score or maybe even commit suicide.

The reality is, the kid that started the bullying is a coward because they hide behind a computer when they post that stuff. Back in the day, before social media, you pretty much had to do it face to face and risk a punch in the nose. Not a pleasant experience if you're on the receiving end of the punch.

So the beatings the JOTD staff get isn't bullying? Or is that physical critiquing ?

Seriously, it's happened to all of us at some point in our lives and it's no fun. Do unto others as you would have them do to you the good Book says.

Back in the day you could punch a bully in the nose and anyone he complained to told him he got what he had coming to him. Doesn't work that way today.....the country has been Oprafied.

As Tony Soprano once said to his shrink, " If you don't break some legs once in a while, how do you get people to do what you want them to do."

bullying is real, Kids are forced to live online now a days because of the schools.

I have a conflicted view, I think you need "some" bullying so people can learn that life isn't all sunshine and rainbows and learn to overcome problems. When someone can't be bullied and is protected at some point they get a dose of real life and they CAN'T handle it. Also you can't defend yourself against bully's when it does happen or your ridiculed and charged with a crime. As another member pointed out here the old days you took it and went home and cried or you finally had enough and punched someone out.
I feel bad for the younger generation you can't escape social media and as the older generation it's completely ignorant of us to try and understand what it's like to live in that world. 24/7 it never ends. Glad I am not a kid anymore they are screwed from all ends with the way our world is going.

If you are a conservative on most college campuses today you are probably going to get bullied at some point. The left wing universities seem to be ok with that.
