Sign on US 22 outside Ebensburg

Some yahoo put up a handpainted sign on US 22 E between Cresson and Ebensburg. It says "No Archery or Muzzleloader".

Drove by a few times now and it piqued my curiousity. Just wondering if anyone knows the story firsthand. Disgruntled rifle hunter or what is his deal??

Seems rather straight forward to me , archery and muzzleloader hunting is not allowed on this persons property.

Well there is a helpful reply!

Having a little fun on a Monday in February. This kind of infighting is bad for the sport. The diplomat in me would like to have a conversation with this fella, but they make them a little looney around those parts. Just trying to see what I'd be up against.

The land is owned by a local businessman who has a "Hunting Camp/Membership" and members pay to hunt on the land. I live nearby and my take-away from the sign is that since it is his land, its his rules.

Gotcha, thanks for the info. I was curious more than anything but I do hate to see that kind of behavior displayed to the general public. Not a good look.

Now there is a true bias statement. Oh, I see now. You are from State College where they make them snobbish in those parts.

People have all kinds of signs posted - No trapping, No turkey hunting, No doe hunting, 8pts or better. It's their land their rules. If you look at the hunter access map people have all kinds of restrictions.

I'm guessing that you would be perfectly fine if the sign said "no rifle hunting"? Tell the truth.
