Re: RIP

I just heard that on ESPN , 84 years old, one of the best backs in pro football, and then a good Monday night football color commentator for a lot of years.RIP

Joined his fellow announcers Howard Cosell & Dandy Don Meredith...those guys made Monday night football what it is (with a little help from the NFL)

Re: RIP

RIP Frank. Wonder if concrete Charlie was at the gates to lay a hit on him.

My ability to remember lyrics from songs of the 60's far exceed my ability to remember why I walked into the kitchen

Re: RIP

I did not remember that Dandy Don had died until I read some of Frank's history, I went through his hometown in 1984 taking my son out to Ft. Hood. It is Mt. Pleasant, Texas, big signs out there telling everyone " The home of Dandy Don Meredith "

Re: RIP

A bright fall day, the smell of someone burning leaves in the back yard, maybe a flock of Canada geese honking distantly and the NFL. I can still hear their voices. Meredith singing ... turn out the lights, the party's over.

Good night Chesty, wherever you are......
