am i to nice

or is it what dad does for his kids and everyone else.
got news tonight that our daughter sold her trailer and is going to be staying here, that's her, husband and 2 kids. we have the spare room so they have a spot. I drive a semi all night and get home frustrated and so does her husband, for the same company. am I really this nuts?

if you bought it, a trucker brought it

My biggest issue would be if everyone was quiet enough for you to get some sleep during the day.

Make sure they know it's only temporary.

Open discussion is important. "We do not mind helping but... Here are our thoughts on how this could work."
To answer your question. No you are not too nice. You are a great dad...

Re: am i to nice

I have told all my Kids that there will always be room for them in my house BUT my house my rules.

Set the rules and if they don't like them they can find a house where they like the rules.

I have helped them all out at one time or another and sometimes it was tough but I will always be there for them.

As for the Grandkids, well blood of my blood trumps everything and they get away with things I would never let their parents do

For those who fought for it, Life has a flavor the protected will never know.

Re: am i to nice

it's just normal family bussiness.

as long as any friend or family member needs help, i'm in. when or if it becomes a situation where someones looking for a free ride, i'm out.

Were you asked or told? Courtesy goes a long way, even with family.
