Trick or Treat.... OR NOT !

I have lived at my current location for 24 years. Do you know I have only had ONE trick or treater in all those years ? It was about 15 years ago, and the nearest neighbor ('bout 1/2 mile away) dropped his kid off on his way in to town to hit the neighborhood. I'm not all Bahhh-Humbuggy, but sometimes life is good.

Try living in Kansas. Nearest house 20 miles away in some spots.

I'm so far behind I think I'm in first place.

Re: Trick or Treat.... OR NOT !

You can't see my house from the road which borders the state forest so where we live generally discourages the trick or treaters haha. When we moved in 3 years ago my wife was all excited and put out candy and decorations, she was sorely disappointed.

Don't even get me started on hanging Christmas lights that no one ever sees either....

It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived.

Re: Trick or Treat.... OR NOT !

I live in a subdivision close to other houses, and used to get a ton of kids (and adults who were acting out), and enjoyed it very much. One year the local HS football team and Cheer leaders showed up and they were cross-dressed. The guys dressed like the cheer leaders and the gals were, of course, dressed in football gear. It was a hoot. Anyhow, about five years or so ago, it just dried up. I got stuck with massive amounts of candy a couple of years in a row, and when I took it to work and left it in the kitchen we had it sat there along with the other uneaten Halloween candy until it was eventually given to the housecleaning staff. Now, I keep the lights off, take in the solar powered accent lights and keep things buttoned up on Halloween.

Good night Chesty, wherever you are......
