357 hunting ammo

i just bought a 357 blackhawk for deer and other hunting. I was wondering what ammo you guys use or suggest for deer.

I like the 158 gr Remington THP for my ruger security six. Id never take a shot over 50 yards with it though. Since you have the Blackhawk which has a heavier frame than mine feel free to try out any 158 or 180 grain bullet you can find. Buffalo Bore, Bear Loads, or the Remington THP are all good rounds but price per bullet vary. IMO forget all the +P loads not that you'll every shoot that thing loose but if you feel you need +P loads just buy a 44 mag.

I use the Hornaday 140 grain FTX, from my Ruger GP100. I have killed 3 deer with them.

Just curious, I recently bought a GP100 with a 6" barrel.
What length is the barrel on your GP and what distance were the shots?
