Re: Compact Slug Guns

H&R makes sweet lil slugger. Just not the ultra slugger that thing is heavy.

Its an open iron site slug gun.

Re: Compact Slug Guns

The h.r is very accurate but not a gun I would want to carry on deer or bear drivers it's only a single shot very heavy ps the ultra is not as accurate as the bull barrel version , don't get me wrong gun is a tack driver but for driving I'd o with a Remington 870 12 gauge slug gun

Tracker II 12 ga 5.6 pounds. That's pretty lite in my book. I had one and it was crazy good gun. But yes you can't spray and pray with it... But walking all day its a breeze to carry and it put rounds where they needed to be if I did my part.

Re: Compact Slug Guns

I already hunt exclusively with single shots...........I shoot T/C Encores. I may stick with the Encore if I can get a shorter barrel.
Thanks for the input guys.

Re: Compact Slug Guns

Do they make a Katahdin type slug barrel? Might be able to buy a full length and have it cut down...

Re: Compact Slug Guns

Sounds nice BUT S&W has abandoned the T/C line. That would be exactly what I wanted!!!

Re: Compact Slug Guns

Drop to a 20 Guage and both the 870 and 500 are both nice light/short guns prefect for driving thick spots for deer/bear

Re: Compact Slug Guns

I have been actually considering the 20 guage. Ballistics are not awfully different and has much less recoil.
