Mossberg Silver Reserve thoughts ?

I just picked up a Silver reserve and would like some feed back good or bad. Big reason was the price. Thanks in advance.

This is just a sampling of the thousands of threads on the Mossberg o/u's.

Notorious for bad triggers, firing pin breakage, and safety issues.

The deer didn't disappear.... the 250,000 guys who used to walk around and make the deer move did.

Re: Mossberg Silver Reserve thoughts ?

I bought the SR in a 28 ga s/s and have ran roughly 600 rounds through it on the clays range without so much as a hick-up. Maybe I got a good one don't know but I like it so far. Light and shoulders perfect for me.
After I posted this I did think of one thing that was a problem when the gun was first shot. When the gun was opened to eject the empty cases unless I opened it fully to allow it to cock again I did get a misfire. However once it was broken in a bit and loosened that problem disappeared completely.

Re: Mossberg Silver Reserve thoughts ?

The Silver Reserve is made by Khan in Turkey, I would pass on them. I had a Khan O/U and the thing started to double with less than 50 rounds shot through it. A guy I work with had one and the firing pin broke with less than 100 rounds through it.

I do know another person that owns a Silver Reserve and he is happy with it, but he doesnt really shoot it.
