Scope Mount/Base Options for Marlin 925

My son bought a new Marlin 925, .22 caliber bolt action rifle last week. The receiver is "drilled & tapped" and also "grooved" to receive Weaver style Ring/Bases.

We would like to use the "Drill & Tapped" option as we're not big fans of the Weaver style set ups.

I've not spent much time on researching this, but does any one know off hand what options we have for a "Drilled abd Tapped" scope mount/base set up for this gun?

Can an "over/under" ring set up be done?

distance on the holes? need to find out what bases those were set for, cus the 925 was dovetail only from the factory. the D/T was probably gunsmith or gunowner...

My 925 came drilled and tapped. I'm not sure what bases I used, but got them at gander mtn.

No, the Drill & Tapped are "factory", that's the way out came fresh out of the box.

Re: Scope Mount/Base Options for Marlin 925

nice...did not know. I have not seen very many 9xx with D&T's from Marlin.

Some research later, Weaver #45 bases have been reported to work, http://rimfireshooting.com/index.php?showtopic=4193
and apparently Marlin offers a base directly as well.

Marlin Part number 71931(stainless) or 71930(blued) from http://www.thedigitaleditiononline.c...ation/?i=30219 on page 23. it's a 2 piece weaver style base. looks like it would do the trick. Try calling Midway too...they may have a one piece (if it fits) or some different 2 piece sets.
