ammo availability

Did the availability or lack thereof of ammo effect your last handgun purchase? I'm looking at purchasing one, but if I can't find any ammo it's not going to do me much good. Don't know if I should just get the caliber I want, or with something that I can usually buy ammo for?

Re: ammo availability

No. I have not bought a handgun for a couple of years.
If I was in the market it would be a duplicate of what I already have/had. I'm pretty boring when it comes to calibers, 9mm. 40 S&W, 45acp and 22LR.

Re: ammo availability

Ammo is slowly coming back, would get what you want and get ammo when you find it.

Re: ammo availability

There are places online to get ammo, but of course the ones that know where to get it are tightlipped about it, can't blame them

Re: ammo availability

I`ll buy any gun if I get a very good deal on it. I never pass up a smoking deal if it is presented to me. You gotta watch the emotional impulse buy if the price isn`t right. Ammo usually doesn`t come into factor when I buy a a gun.

Re: ammo availability

The panic purchasing is just about over, most ammo is available on the shelves, you never know when it might start again however.
