Shotgun question

I just bought the Winchester SXP and yesterday when I got it they didn't have the combo. So my question is if I buy another smooth bore barrel could I get a gunsmith to put a scope rail on the barrel?

Ok because my gunsmith told me he can make me a deer barrel from a smooth bore like chop it and stuff but never said anything about a scope rail.

Re: Shotgun question

If you are going to spend the money for a slug barrel you may as well get one that is rifled instead of smooth bore.

When you are up to your butt in alligators, it is hard to remember your intent was to drain the swamp. Stay focused!

Re: Shotgun question

I have had my smith put Weaver rails on a bunch of my turkey guns. Nothing to it.

But you will have close to a $100 bill in it. That would be a decent start on a rifled slug barrel.

They don't sell a barrel separate for the gun I just got Winchester said it will be a year or so before they offer a rifled barrel separate.

For a year I would wait. Your will probably get much better accuracy with a fully slug rifled barrel.
