Re: bore polishing how-to

theres a good tutorial on the oldgobbler forum.

I’m a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work the more I have of it.

This is a deep cleaning method, it's not as complicated as the polishing. Probably doesn't give as good of results but it is easier.

Re: bore polishing how-to

When I did it I used a muzzleloader ram rod...it fit my cordless drill...a 20ga brush (for a 12ga) oil and green and blue scotch bright pads...

Oil the brush and a piece of green scotch bright..make it so the pad is what's touching the bore...wrap the brush in it and cut to size...oil the pad dripping...run it through the bore while running the drill..not crazy fast but run the drill...

Do a couple pads of green...might need to run a dry patch now and again...I did it outside...it is a bit messy but you need the oil to lubricate..

After the green do a few blue patches...

Patch dry....

Should be a mirror...

Some use steel wool etc but that's a mess...
