Opinions on handguns......

More specifically, accuracy.I've had several pistols but due to $ I only ever bought 1 that shot well. That was a S&W 686.I bought a couple cheaper autos that don't shoot well at all and I think it's time for a better quality handgun.looking at Berettas,Sigs and springfield armory. What's your thoughts/experience as far as accuracy in an auto handgun? Thanks for any input,Doug.

Re: Opinions on handguns......

I had a Springfield 9mm xdm and a Springfield 45 acp xds. both handguns shot very well.I would highly recommend the xds in 45 acp. It carries well and is very accurate even though it has such a short barrel.

Re: Opinions on handguns......

I have a Beretta 92. It is easily the most accurate handgun I own. So far it is very reliable and I like it alot. Got it at Grice's for a good price.

Re: Opinions on handguns......

I was really considering the S&W M&P to go along with my S&W A R.Looks like all these are good choices!!

Re: Opinions on handguns......

Springfield XDS .45 second vote.

I spent all last summer going to gun shows "trying on" pistols. There is a huge difference in how they feel, fill the hand, and conceal.

No one handgun fits the bill for any person. Do the homework and get what fits you, how you will use it, and feels in your hand. In this, going to gun shows is invaluable as you can handle so many different types of weapons. Combined with the online research and write-ups on each handgun, you can make an informed decision based on a lot of factors besides price and caliber.

Is your position a short term gain - or a long term loss? Separate the issues.

Re: Opinions on handguns......

What kind of accuracy are we talking??

What kind of shooting??

Just target shooting or competition, concealed carry etc?

Most handguns shoot better than the typical shooter...most average shooters couldnt tell much difference accuracy wise between a glock or SIG or a Kimber or similar with a match grade barrel..
