Vintage Smith

Taking a break from all the ESOS and 2A attack threads, i thought i'd show off a piece i bought recently. A buddy who is a gun dealer and knows my tastes called me up and told me he had something i may be interested in. as soon as i saw him carrying out the gold box i knew i was in trouble.

Its a 1954 K-22 Combat Masterpiece. Pre Model 18, 5 screw, all numbers matching and in great shape. a little turn line and some muzzle wear but otherwise really nice. the box is actually from a k32 masterpiece and in decent shape and worth a few bucks by itself. For those of you who know your smiths, you will appreciate how seldom you see one like this. the price was right and it is a serious shooter. i was dropping pop cans at 40 yards with it on a cold, nasty day. it is more accurate than my 6" K22 of the same era. i'm going to take it out back this afternoon and run a bunch of my coveted 22 ammo through it. this one will be riding along with my ruger 77/22 this fall in the squirrel woods. the only problem i have now is my boys each want one.

My diploma is a DD Form 214

Very nice piece , good luck with it, looks like the coke bottle grips.

Re: Vintage Smith

Oh my! Congratulations on a sweet find. I have a K 22 Masterpeice but with a 6" barrel. It's the second K 22 I have owned and I will never let this one get away. Had to sell the first one due to a financial misfortune.

Good night Chesty, wherever you are......
