Stevens model 58

I picked up a stevens bolt 12 gauge today for $15 at a yard sale, the metal and wood need some attention, but the bore is very good. My question is: How can I determine what choke it is if any? I've got it narrowed down to the year (53')? I know it probably wasn't worth the $15, but I want to try my hand at bluing.

When no tools are handy, I use the West Virginia dime test. Take a dime,(two nickels won't work)and drop it down the barrel from the chamber end. If the dime does not come out the end of the barrel, you have a full choke gun. If the dime comes out of the end of the barrel, the choke is modified, or a more open choke. Unless the barrel has been cut, your gun left the factory with either a modified or full choke. DON'T FORGET TO REMOVE THE DIME IF IT DOESN'T FALL OUT!!!
