Choke Tube?

I have a benelli supernova which came with three chokes. I know the full choke says no steel on it but does anyone know if heavy-shot is ok to shoot through it?

Re: Choke Tube?

Heavy shot is very hard also, like steel. I personally wouldn't do it. Usually the "no steel" designation means you should only shoot softer shot like lead, copper plated lead, etc through it.

I think I'm an alright guy, I think I'm alright

However............ the shot used in Winchester Elite shotshells is softer than choke-tube steel and should be safe to shoot.

Carlson's makes choke tubes designed specifically for hevi shot that are reasonably priced. I have one that throws excellent patterns with Remington No. 5 hevi shot turkey loads.
