Bear Hunting Revolver

Hello Guys:

I am in the market for a revolver for primarily bear, but also, deer hunting. I'm open to any suggestions. I've never owned a revolver before, so I've been thinking a .357 is a good starter gun; however, I am contemplating a .44mag for the added power.

Thank you for the suggestions.

The 357 is a good starter pistol but go with the 44 if you plan on hunting bear...JMHO

I agree with everyone else on the .44 for your stated purposes. My preference is a stainless Ruger Redhawk 7 1/2 inch.

Re: Bear Hunting Revolver

Agree with the others...if for bear 44mag, can shoot specials at the range to get acquainted. Or if you can try one out before hand, a 454 with the 45 colt option.
S&W 629
Ruger RH or SRH
If you like single actions, rugers or FA

Good luck!
