CHARLES DAILY MAXI-MAG SHOTGUN PROBLEMS

Ok, my buddy gave me his charles dailey maxi-mag 3 1/2 in. shotgun. i field dressed it, and cleaned it thouroghly. there is 3 prob. with it. 1)it will not consistanly shoot shells. 2). it will not properly cycles 3 1/2" mags. 3) it will not hold (2) 3 1/2" mags in the mag. i filed the plugs down so it will hold the right number of shells, still wont cycle the mags. seems like the action is to short to allow for the sheels to come up adn feed into the chamber. and after cleaning it, it still wont shoot remington shells. it shoots the alum. primer federal shells flawlessly. but barly leaves a dent in the brass rem. primers. I miked the all the shells, they all rest in the chamber evenly, the primers are all set to the same depth. anyone ever had this prob. the gun doesnt have 2 full boxes through it yet? any ideas or help would be appr.
