Re: mossberg 935 semi auto, opinions

I didn't like the 3 1/2 inch loads, more pellets sure but less velocity, and wasn't impressed with the patterns, just about the same. I like moss bergs, they work, and are pocket friendly. I don't believe u gotta have all of the gadgets and gizmos, my lh Remington 1100 with a fixed full choke and my handspans haven't missed a turkey yet(knock on wood).

Anybody can shoot deer on the farm ground....You earn it in the mountains.......

Re: mossberg 935 semi auto, opinions

i have an 870 and shoot mostly 3 inchers out of it.

dont do a lot of small game, pheasants once in a while, squirrels i use a .22

i use the 870 for turkey, fox and yotes, so i thought the 935 would be good.

I have a 935 with a 26 inch barrel use mainly for geese, it shoots great with 3 1/2 and 3 inch only problem i had was it wouldn't fire the second shot. After I sent it back to mossberg on their dime it has worked great. Use it as much as my 1187

I have a 935 turkey gun. I found the pattern to be as good if not better w/ 3" shells as the 3 1/2" so I use the 3". I have never had a feed problem and it goes boom every time I pull the trigger, of course since I only use it for turkey it doesn't get shot a lot like a waterfowl gun is. Since you ask for opinions, I am happy with mine.

When you are up to your butt in alligators, it is hard to remember your intent was to drain the swamp. Stay focused!

I had one up until 2 years ago when I bought a Browning. Never had any issues and also found that it patterned well with 3" but I never tried 3 1/2.

Re: mossberg 935 semi auto, opinions

UPDATE:

i got the used 935, fiber optic sights and red dot scope. shoots great, patterns great, and it will cycle 2 3/4 loads as fast as you can pull the trigger.

its not suppose to be able to do that according to some folks but i bought a box of remington extended range 2 3/4 number 6's velocity is 1330 fps...thats the key

just as much velocity as the 3 and 3 1/2 loads.

now if i could only talk a turkey into range.

Re: mossberg 935 semi auto, opinions

The issue with 2 3/4 is not the length, but the payload.

You can get 2 3/4 shells that are Heavy Loads like the ones you suggested and I would have expected it to cycle like you have stated it does.

It likely won't do that with a 7/8 ounce light game/target load.

The deer didn't disappear.... the 250,000 guys who used to walk around and make the deer move did.
