Taurus Judge

Looking for some input from the HPA experts on the Taurus Judge.

The problem is that I don't know what I don't know.

Re: Taurus Judge

My buddy has one I have shot it, would like to have one , I thhink it comes in a couple barrel lengths..Some ammo is offered in 410 home defense load, a mix of shot sizea, a little expensive for a box of 410 shells I would only want it for home defense , not sure I would carry , to much spread on the shot pattern, but at home you get him and his 2 accomplices...

Re: Taurus Judge

I wouldn't own one if it was given to me. Nothing but a gimmick, not a good revolver or a good shotgun, in addition, they are mud fence ugly.

Re: Taurus Judge

For about the 3rd time in as many years I have to agree with John.

Want a home defense shotgun? Get a 870 or 500 with a cylinder bore in 12 gauge. If you must you can put a pistol grip on them, but I wouldn't.

If you want to use a 45...buy a 45. Not one that is intended to be used with shot. Revolver, auto...doesn't matter.

I knew I would eventually get you out of the dark side.

Re: Taurus Judge

my dad owns 1 and likes it but he will tell the 410 pattern is so spread out after about 20ft it's pretty much useless but he only has the 1 chambered for 2 1/2"shells and only has a 2 3/4" bbl they 3" chambers and longer bbl lenght would help i'd imagine

Re: Taurus Judge

I know personally of 4 people who have them or have had them. All have had some kind of mechanical problem. Two had cylinder jamming on rotation, one had the cylinder actually fall out when shot, and the other stays in when shooting, but falls out when opening it. Couple that with two Taurus I've had that were junk, and you can tell my feelings on the gun.

I gotta go agitate the techies!

Re: Taurus Judge

They were the rage a few years ago, now theres a pile of used ones flooding the market...there has to be a reason.

Re: Taurus Judge

i have shot one. two buddies own or owned one. one is never shot. the other was used to do in "chip and dale" on the deck without damaging the decking. novelty guns in most cases. far to heavy and bulky to daily carry. yet s&w is jumping in with the governor. i am at a loss.
