3X9 on a slug gun.

Anyone here use a 3X9 on thier slug gun?
My 1100 has a 2X7X32 bushnell elite on it.
The power is fine for the ranges I shoot
but would like to go biger than the 32mm.
Would like to go to a 40mm but don't believe anyone
makes a 2X7X40 so I'd have to jump to a 3X9.

No 2-7x40's out there for you my friend. I think the 3-9 is the best all around scope they make. It will work great for you on your slug gun! Just out of curiosity why do you think you need a 40mm objective? That Bushnell Elite is a pretty good scope which is why I was wondering about the 8mm upgrade. Good luck!

3X9 would be my choice for a good long range slug gun.

Some of the areas I hunt are semi thick, thought the wider field
of view would help.
I may have an area to hunt next year that is pretty open
with some longer shot oportunity's so the 3X9 would be better in that
respect.
No question the Elite is a real good scope, my son may be taking
it off my hands.

Thanks Guys

I got you, I think the 3-9 puts you on the right track then. Good luck!

Have to ask...what is the definition of a long range slug gun?

And as for the original question....any quality 3x9x40 scope will surfice.
Slug guns are mules so I wouldn't skimp on my optics choice.

Re: 3X9 on a slug gun.

Take a look at the leupold vx3 2.5-8x36...a little smaller and lighter than most 3-9s...but a very bright clear piece of glass....i swear my new one is brighter than if i look with my naked eye....i have 2 and its my goto scope now..really like them...
