Dead Coyote

Does anyone have any feedback for the Hevi- Shot Dead Coyote ammo?

How does it perform? (How far will it go, how many pellets at that range, what shot size, etc...?)

This is a long shot (no pun intended)because I doubt very many people have tested it out. (I wouldn't either. This stuff is expensive!)

Re: Dead Coyote

If you buy a decent choke, #4 buck has worked just as well in our shotguns. I know hunters who have killed them in turkey season out to 40 yards with plain #4 Turkey shot. Again shot placement being the key.

Re: Dead Coyote

Are you using it for coyotes or something else? I have used it on geese and it is awesome! Best load for long range high flying geese. Never used it on anything else. Good luck!

Re: Dead Coyote

I gave a box of Remington 3.5 Wingmaster HD #4s to a friend for fox. He has killed them out to 70 yards and said they went clean thru. Not sure how far you want to shoot a shotgun with just a bead sight but Dead Coyote is said to kill out to 100 yards. You may want a scope setup for that kind of distance. If I were going for yotes with a shotgun 3.5 Hevi #2s is what I would use.

Friends don't make promises they can't keep.

Re: Dead Coyote

Plan to go after some yotes with them but I'd like to get an idea what size shot people recommend.

Re: Dead Coyote

I have a mossberg 835 and use it in 3 1/2 t shot. I also use carlsons dead coyote choke. I patterned it at 70ydrs and in a 30 in circle target i had 32 pellets in it. Not bad i though. I took a few fox with it so far. The only down side is it kicks like a mule. I have a 10g shotgun witch has less kick then that.
