Ruger 10-22 question

Does anyone know if there is an adapter kit that will permit a Ruger 10-22 to shoot .22 shorts in the semi-auto mode?

Re: Ruger 10-22 question

Not that I am aware of? Other than a cartridge feeding issue, the action is a blowback design and probably will not function properly with anything less than a LR?

Re: Ruger 10-22 question

I have found the answer to my question and am passing along the info. First, thank you to the moderator for allowing this question in this forum because I think I put it here erroneously... should have been somewhere else, I THINK..??
Now the answer. a company called VOLQUARTSEN (has a website) makes a kit that will convert a 10-22 to permit shooting .22 shorts. BUT!!! It costs over $200!! Guess I will just buy another .22 for doing the quiet shooting for the back yard. VOLQUARTSEN seems to make all kinds of after market stuff for 10-22.

Re: Ruger 10-22 question

Volquartsen makes lots of stuff for 1022s (and other applications), wasn't aware they made that kit? And yep, about everything they make is kinda pricy, but it's good stuff.

They were once the only game in town, but now there are several other sources for such things as "drop in" triggers, etc, for 1022s, but at lower prices.
