Shotgun Barrel

Just wondering if any one has ever shortened a slug barrel? Is it even possible and if so what does it cost? If you shortened it from 24 to 20 how much would this effect accuracy if at all. Thanks for any information into this subject.

Re: Shotgun Barrel

If a smooth bore the most important thing is that the muzzle be trued up. Same thing for a rifled barrel. Once it is shortened it must be trued and recrowned like barrel on a rifle. If this is done accuracy shot be the same as before.
