Re: BEST RIFLED BARREL SLUG

I've had good performance out of my 20ga w Hornady SST. Accurate and good performance on game.

I used to shoot the Winchester Partition Gold and xp3 out of my 12ga with good results as well.

You have to experiment , certain shotguns shoot better with some sabots than others , yes it makes a big difference between the different brands .

Re: BEST RIFLED BARREL SLUG

i shoot 3" copper solids. my gun loves them and deer dont. i tried the accutips this year and they shot great, but i wasnt impressed with the results on game. they reminded me of the hornadys. junk! no expansion.

Re: BEST RIFLED BARREL SLUG

Another vote for the copper solids, I shoot 2 3/4" out of my 870 and it's deadly accurate and consistant. Shoots 1.5" groups at 100 yds.

this is VERY true, but you gotta look at whats effective too. i know the Hornadys shoot great, tight patterns, but i wouldnt put one through my gun if somebody gave it to me. they dont kill deer, plain and simple.
