Barska scope???

Anybody ever use a Barska scope? A guy at work wants to sell me one, but I never used them. Are they good quality, long lasting, well made, etc? Thanks.

You can shear a sheep many times, but you can only skin it once.

Re: Barska scope???

I am sure you will hear differing opinions. In my opinion, they are junk. You could not give one to me. I bought two of them several years back and sold them both for half the price of what I paid for them about a month later.
The ones I had would not hold zero. Maybe it was just a flaw in the ones that I had but it was enough for me to classify them as junk and never use one again.
I don't believe in cheap optics and in my mind that is what Barska is. You can have an awesome shooting gun that won't hit near its potential if you have cheap optics on it that don't do their job.
With that said, I don't think you have to go overboard with the optics. There are plenty of decent quality sopes out there in the $200.00 range.

Re: Barska scope???

Here is one differing opinion. I have 3 and think they are fine. I bought the first one just out of curiosity. It worked fine as an average hunting grade scope so I bought one for my chuck rifle. It holds zero fine, but like I say, it is an average grade scope. So depending on your needs and expectations, they may or may not be for you.

Re: Barska scope???

I have heard that guys that use them on rimfires and at most 22 Hornets they like them.. If you were going to put them on any gun the kicks more I would go to another scope.. They are probably the cheapest scopes that you can buy.

I did hear that the Barska Lazer sight is JUNK!!!!!

Would I personally buy one. NO! I like the cheap Muller illuminated 3 X 9 40 MM scopes for fox hunting and Muller's 4.5 X 14 AO for chucks...

Re: Barska scope???

A guy in our camp had one on his .270, and it fogged up and had to be replaced.

They're made in China.

Re: Barska scope???

a buddy of mine had a leupold that failed, but they took care of it right away.

high priced items are not always the best neither are the low priced items.

a 6,000 dollar custom made gun wont make you a world champ if you dont have skill.

Just remember you get what you pay for when it comes to optics.
