Brand Question

Hello. I have been looking to add a shotgun to my arsenal. I am looking to get into small game and predator hunting more. My buddy is willing to sell me a .12ga shotgun which I have been looking for. The gun looks like it is in great shape as it has only been shot twice and the price is nice. It is a New England Firearms gun and I have heard of this brand, but know nothing about them. Are they a reliable company? Any experience with these guns or this company? Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Brand Question

Nothing wrong with it but it sounds like you are looking for a shotgun on the cheap. Personally I would look at a used Mossberg 500 there are thousands of them out there, they will handle 3 inch mags for the predators, as well as standard game loads for small game. I am not real familiar with the New Englandís, all I have seen have been single shots, more so for predators but that second and third shot comes in handy if you have a double come in on you.

Re: Brand Question

The for sale and wanted to buy on this forum as well as the two links below are very good for finding a good used gun. I have owned a Mossberg 500 for 35 years and shot a ton of 3 inch mags on Ducks, Geese, and Predators with no sign of a problem. They donít have the nice finish or feel of the Winchesters but they are made to last for a good price.

Re: Brand Question

Thanks for the info guys. After talking to a couple other buddies I think Mossberg is the way I will go. Skook, where is that gunshop?

Re: Brand Question

I won a New England Firearms 20 ga. a few years back and I like it very much. I have taken 7 boss gobblers with 7 shots. I now leave my two Browning 12ga. & my 12 & 20 ga. Mossberg at home to hunt with the NEF.
