1st pistol kill

What a cool day... I took my first pistol deer today. A big 'ol doe was leading a string of 11 deer.

Congrats Ace. Would love to take one with my GP-100.

You just shot an unarmed man. Well he should have armed himself!!! Clint Eastwood.

Re: 1st pistol kill

Nice! I've been out with my SRH all week and came close to pulling the trigger on a doe but never got the shot. Also passed up a shot at a bear because she was with cubs.

Be back out Monday, doing it allover again!

Nice big doe. What caliber is the revolver?

When you are up to your butt in alligators, it is hard to remember your intent was to drain the swamp. Stay focused!

Re: 1st pistol kill

It was a very big doe. That is the first deer I have dragged in a VERY LONG time. My truck is in the body shop (becuz I hit 2 deer in 5 days and it required some down time)...so I was not able to being the ATV along yesterday. So I had to drag it about 800 yds...Im feeling it today. LOL

Its a Ruger Super Blackhawk .44 mag. I cant hit the broadside of a barn with it...but was able to knock her off her feet somehow.

I'll definitely do this again...quite a rush.

First and foremost, congrats!

Secondy, I'm not trying to be goofy or start anything, but that statement bugs me a bit. To me, it's the equivalent of saying you shot at her and hoped for the best. You could have just as easily went the other way and hit her in the butt/guts/leg/who knows where.

Again, congrats, but maybe don't advertise that you got lucky. You may not get the same results next time.

I understand your concern, but my statement is a bit exaggerated. Im not driving tacks, but consistently hitting a paper plate sized target at 50 yds.

This deer was at 15 yds when I made the shot...I was very confident in my shot placement at that distance.
