Shotgun Fiber Optic Sights

I have a Mossberg 835 that I use for shooting clay pigeons and waterfowl hunting. I only have the white front bead. I am looking into getting a fiber optic front bead. I am waiting to hear back from Mossberg about getting their fiber optic sights.

Some others that I am looking into are

TrugloŽ Tru-Point Wing & Clay Sight

HiViz Flame All-in-One Shotgun Sight

Does anyone have any experience with these? Is one brighter than the other?

Thanks for all your help.

I like the Tru Glo sights, but the ones that I use replace your bead and have removable light pipes. They come with 3 different sizes of green and red + 1 white pipe. They are nice to change out in different light sittuations so that they show up better. Either way any fiberoptic bead that you use will be more visable than the factory bead. Just remember that it is a shotgun and the bead is on there for looks. I know alot of guys who just take them totally off and shoot extreamly well. Point and shoot.

If you're looking at the bead you're not looking at the target. Fiber optic sights are great for turkey hunting or on a slug gun but have no use in wingshooting.

Re: Shotgun Fiber Optic Sights

I use Tru Glo sights for turkey hunting, I have a 20 ga Mossberg I use for rabbits. I HAD a Tru Glo sight on the front like the one in the pic above but it fell off last year when I was rabbit hunting, and used it with out the front sight. It didn't even make a difference at all, I still got rabbits with it. In other words I really don't think you need one for moving targets. I never used that front sight anyway.

My name is Moss and i'm a turkey huntin' addict

I have a snap on one for turkey hunting. I take it off for anything else.

Re: Shotgun Fiber Optic Sights

Guys, I just would like to know who has sights like these and if they like them. My turkey barrel has fiber sights. My other barrel does not. I want to get fiber optic sights, just not sure what kind. Please just let me know if you have similar sights and if you like them.

This is a horrible pic but the 2 guns to the left have Tru-Glo threaded beads, and the gun on the right has the Hi-Viz( used provided screw and then super-glued it to barrel )both are excellent in my opinion. these are turkey guns.

I had one like the first pictured and it was junk, it broke and i figured as soon as I put it on that was going to happen. I got a threaded bead.

Re: Shotgun Fiber Optic Sights

Not really a big fan of putting a sight on my shotgun that gains more of my attention. I tried putting on a fiber optic sight a few times and shot my worse sporting clays scores with it on. You have to be looking hard at the target and not at the sight. Some people do have success with them. Good luck.
