Choke question

I have a stevens model 9478 its a single shot 20ga my gramps got me the gun when I was 12 years old, I only used it for a season and its been sitting in the cabinet for about 13 years. Anyways I'm wanting to start carrying it for bunnies its a fixed choke barrel and I'm not sure what it is. How can I tell if its mod or full choke

Thanks

Re: Choke question

Look on the side of the barrel. It should read, MOD or Full or IMP CYL. If not,use a set of calipers to measure the inside diamitter of the bore.
get your measurement, and then go to the cabelas website and look up different choke tubes, they almost alawys have the dimms listed. then you can see if it is a full, modified or Imp cyl choke.

Re: Choke question

I have found that most 20 gauge shotguns from stvens and or savage are choked full. Not always but most.

Re: Choke question

I looked all over for a stamp but there is nothing on there! Guess I'll have to do the caliper idea thanks!
