pachmyr grips on Blackhawk

a few years ago i bought a Ruger Blackhawk in 41 mag. i put a set of Pachmyr grips on it but am having problems getting the grips to close around the frame. bought a dremel tool thinking that the inlet in the inside of the grips was maybe too thick or wasnt cut out right. after looking closely im just wondering if the roll pin thats in the bottom of the frame might be a little too long and keeping the grips from closing when the grip screw it tightened. has anyone else had this problem and if you figured out how to cure this.

Make sure you have the right grips for the frame. There are 2 frame styles. One, like mine, is the XR3 Red frame. I forget what the other is without looking it up

I put a Hogue wrap around on my SBH .44 It's been so long ago, I can't remember if there was any problem or not. But, since I don't remember, I'm leaning "not".

Try fitting the grips to the grip frame with the locator pin removed. If everything fits without the pin you have your answer.
