Rat shot through a NAA mini revolver?

Any NAA mini revolver owners out there? Have you ever fired rat shot through yours?. I was thinking this thing might offer a decent little platform for the occasional snake or rat you run into when sitting dove hunting or if just out hiking.

A guy I know has a cap version.Took a little bit to get the load right but he uses it on a trap line.I can ask if he ever used shot but I don't think he has.

I would think you would have to be VERY close to kill anything with it? Probably closer than I would want to be to something that maybe poisonous!

I'm not trying to be a wiesenhiemer, but if you're dove hunting with a shotgun why would you need something else loaded with shot to dispatch a rat or snake? If that happens to me they'll get a 12ga to the face.
Dogface likes this.

Remember, shoot straight and shoot often.
Good... Bad... I'm the guy with the gun.

Ha, good point. I never thought of that. I had the gun with me the other day when I went dove hunting ( I always carry another weapon when hunting alone, for personal safety reasons from two legged varmints), and just thought about the rat shot thing. I may buy a box and try them out on a tin can or something. I can hit a soda can at about ten feet with this gun pretty easily with solid rounds, so I figured rat shot should also be effective.

Understandable carrying a handgun for "varmits" while bowhunting - always figured I was good when carrying a shotgun or rifle.

I collect "Smoothbore" 22's.. I wouldn't want to use Rat shot for anything I was afraid of. It is a lot of fun for critters found around the corncrib. If you want to try some sporting shots it is great for shooting wood bees on the wing.
