Chokes

Can you use a choke for steel shot and shoot heavy shot through it? I have a full choke for steel shot and it would save me from buying a new choke for the heavy shot

Re: Chokes

Yes -- the issue with chokes is you must insure thay are rated for steel shot , heavy shot is much softer

Re: Chokes

thanks for the info. I have used the heavy shot with my dad's shotgun, and would like to use them with mine, I just can't justify spending money I don't have on a new choke if I don't need it. My dad has a patternmaster on his browning gold hunter and has shot turkeys a 70-80 yds away!!

Re: Chokes

Shooting a turkey at 70-80 yards is totally, completely unsportmanlike. A lucky shot may kill a turkey but you will cripple most. He needs to learn to call. Sheesh!
