I have been doing this for years with a contender with a .22 Jet 10" barrel and lately with a .22 Var-Targ. 9" barrel each with a 2X scope.

Re: handgunning for fall turkey

I killed a fall turkey one year with my S&W 357 and Hornady XTP 158 grainers, my shot was through the body and I did lose alot of breast meat, but it did drop the turkey fast.

aim a little higher than the wing, which in the excitment is what I did.

Re: handgunning for fall turkey

I imagine if I use my .44 Mag with 240 grain wadcutters it should just make a .44 hole and clean?
