I was in the Waynesboro Walmart today , I noticed in the gun rack they had two Tri-Star over/unders for
357 dollars , you say "Not well made" Duh ya think ,,
But you know their are some hunters that just do a little dove hunting or a little small game hunting they would be fine for someone who wants an over/under and cant afford a 1000 dollar gun https://youtu.be/FK1CtefNj68
I think those are the ones I've picked up at local shops. You're right they aren't bad. For me though the comb is too high. The new Stevens O/U are a much nicer feeling gun for only a few bucks more.
I've thought the same thing, Trapjaw, when handling both guns. I was looking at the 20 ga.'s. There are a number of reports of doubling firing with the Savage/Stevens but that may have been fixed or user error in the first place. Another option would be a used SKB/Ithaca (or similar quality used gun)that sometimes show up in the $475-$600 range. One thing about a used O/U...you won't have tears in your eyes when you put the first ding/scratch in it.
I seen it in W/Mart today too.Only seen it from outside of that spinning enclosure. They only had it listed in 12 ga which I am not interested in.Didn,t think to ask em if they had it in different gages, but I doubt if they did.
