Remington 11-87 or Weatherby SA-08

Anyone have an opinion about which gun would be the better choice, out of the following two 12 ga., 28" barrel models with synthetic stocks?

Weatherby SA-08- 6.5 lbs., overall length- 48", Drop at Heel- 2 1/4"

Remington 11-87- 8.3 lbs., overall length- 48", Drop at Heel- 2 1/2"

the Remmy without a doubt. Bought the weatherby for the wife as it was lighter & she liked the feel. After a couple days of dove hunts with light loads she became disgruntled with the gun because of jams with the light loads. Traded it back and got her a remmy and went to a 20 ga. - never looked back. not a single jam or misfeed.

Not familiar with the Weatherby, but would definitely go with the Remington 11-87. The wide variety of barrels, stocks and parts available for the Remington adds more versatility.

Remmy's are great, have always shot them, but there are problems with the cheaper models, if you do get a 11-87 or Versa max, do not buy the "sportsmans" model, they are a cheaper made gun. 11-87 sportsmans sell a some places for between 5-6 hundred dollars, and they are cheap. I have 2 11-87 SP's(special purpose), and a regular Versa Max, very little problem with any of them, the 2 11-87's are about 22 years and 14 years old respectively, the Versa is about 3 years old. But have had buddies get the cheaper versions, with nothing but problems.
