Bases for handgun sights

Not sure of which sight I'm going to use, but all of my choices need a Weaver base. I am mounting the sight on a Ruger New Model SuperBlackhawk,7 1/2 in., .44mag. Any suggestions?

Re: Bases for handgun sights

You need a Weaver base made for your Blackhawk. Check a site like Brownell's for the correct base number.

All Weaver rings will work with a Weaver base.

There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn't true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true.

Re: Bases for handgun sights

I've used a Weigand base and rings with great success in the past on my Ruger Redhawk.

Weigand Ruger base

His rings come with little tabs of double sided tape to put on the inside of the rings so the scope can't slide in the rig. That scope/mount hasn't budged in 13 years.

He's a PA guy to boot, so your supporting the "local" economy.

I've migrated to open sighted S&W's over the last 10 years so my scoped handgun doesn't get much use any more.
