Remington Accutip Slugs

have any of you shotgun hunters had any problems with these slugs? they shoot great out of my 870, but I had to shoot a doe three times on Saturday to kill it and all three shots were in the heart lung area, and the second was right on the shoulder and the deer just looked at me!!!! so I put another in and then she was done!! im thinking of switching to a different slug after that, but I like how they shoot out of my gun. any ideas or input? thanks
