Just re-did my Mossberg 500

So, I received my 2nd gun when I was 10 years old which was a mossberg 500. From that time until I was around 26 that was the only shot gun I ever used. At age 32, I now have more higher end shotguns that have basically kept the old boy locked in the safe. Well, with a recent surgery and not being able to hunt or do anything too active, I decided to take on a little project. It took a lot of time to figure out what I wanted to do, but I decided I would turn that 500 into my primary home defense weapon. Since I was bound to bed rest last week, I took a ton of time researching manufacturers, retailers, different parts, etc. After a lot of hours, I felt like I found the right components to make this gun a practical and cost effective tool. So, I ordered the products thursday and they came today. Since I hadn't been real active, I figured this would be the day to make my first attempt at doing something other than walking and sleeping.

Here's the before and afters- if you guys can think of any practical add ons other than a light and shell holder I'd appreciate it

Nice, what did you use to cut down the barrel?

I wanted to keep my 28 inch, so I just bought the 18.5 open cyclinder police/security barrel. With a coupon, I got it for $80 at cabelas
