Plastic fowling

Anybody ever run into accuracy issues due to plastic build up in a rifled slug barrel? If so how could you tell that the plastic fowling was the culprit and did just hoppes #9 and a bronze brush remedy the problem?

Re: Plastic fowling

I had accuracy problems with my encore 209x50 , shooting plastic sabots , used shooters choice choke tube cleaner ,it cleaned up the barrel and took care of the problem. plastic fouling is real and does cause accuracy problems.

Save a wolf , take one to the taxidermist

Re: Plastic fowling

I never noticed any problems with a slug barrel but you may have a valid concern.

I did notice a build up of plastic with certain trap / clay guns. I was very surprised about how much plastic I found when I started looking. So much so that I purchased a solvent designed to remove plastic.

There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn't true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true.
