Tc 45/410

What is the use for the choke in this barrel, I've been told it is to pull the wad off of the shot charge. I left the choke in and missed a rabbit at 10 yds. How is that possible? I didn't pattern it before taking it hunting. Can I just remove the choke and not damage the threads when I shoot it? Any suggestions?

I understand the choke stops the wad from spinning, providing better patterns.

Don't shoot it with the choke out. If you've noticed the grooves in it, they're there for a reason-to stop the wad spin due to the fact that you're shooting a shotgun shot cup through a rifled barrel. Only remove it when shooting .45 LCs.

Re: Tc 45/410

Can anyone speak as to how accurate these things are with 45 LC?

Just seems to me with all that jump to the rifling and then a section of no rifling at the end that they may not be very accurate.

The deer didn't disappear.... the 250,000 guys who used to walk around and make the deer move did.

Mine was good to about 65 yards or so. The "sights", if you can call them that do not lend themselves to much precision or even general accuracy beyond that. That said, it did like my hot loaded 265 gr stuff andni wouldn't have hesitated to smack a deer with it.
