Rottwiel

Just got in my Rottwiel lazor slugs.
12 Ga. 2 3/4 magnum.
They are a sabot recommended for riffled barrels only.
Can;t wait to shoot them.
They claim to have great accuracy.
If they shoot as mean as they look I'll be OK.

Re: Rottwiel

Hands down the very best sabot slug I have tried so far.
Remember that the ammo is only one part of having a accurate slug gun. Your gun, barrel, scope mounts, scope all have to be doing their part as well as the shooter.
I set up a 870 Rem, using a Hastings barrel, & a Leupold 1x5 scope. Sent the barrel & gun off to Dave at Da-Mar http://www.damargunsmiths.com/ to have the trigger slicked up & the barrel pinned to take up any movement with the action/barrel. It will shoot 1 ragged hole at 100 yards.
Note that slugs are influenced by wind, pick a calm day to sight in, hold on to the forearm with your hand (not just resting on a bag), stay away from lead sleds and if a auto or pump be sure the magazine ring is on tight.
The laser plus sabots are heavy and I have never recovered a slug in a deer, all shots have been pass through regardless of angle.

Re: Rottwiel

I previously was shooting Rem. accu tips with so so accuracy.
Out of 1100 slug gun.
I believe the Rem riffled barrels have a 1 in 35 twist.
I read where the faster shooting sabots like the Accu tips don't shoot well out of 1 in 35 twist.
That rate of twist is better suited for a slower slug like the Rottweil.

Thanks for the info Kebco.
