Favorite holster Super Redhawk...

I've had a Super Redhawk .44 for a few years now and I'm planning on carrying it this year for bear, and maybe on a few deer outings. It's big, bulky, and quit heavy. I was wondering what a lot of you guys use holster wise when carrying your large caliber handguns hunting? I like the chest style holsters but don't know which one to get. My biggest issue is being able to carry it comfortably while walking and doing occasional drives. Barrel is 7.5" and I have no scope.

Diamond D Guides Choice......hands down

I have had mine for 6 years, and I carry a Raging Bull 454 Casull in it all day chasing bears............It stays Secure all day, and carries really well......fit and finish is excellent as is the durability

They are handmade in a small shop in Alaksa, when I got mine, it was pretty much a 1 man operation......I think they have grown a fair amount since though due to the popularity of this holster.......

I hunt with a scoped 9 1/2" Super Redhawk and have been using the Uncle Mike's Bandolier Holster. Great holster, no complaints.

A few years ago I picked up a 7 1/2" Ruger Super Redhawk. I carry that in a Galco SAO belt holster. It can be worn either on the strong side, or as I prefer on the other side in a crossdraw fashion.

Well honestly that is a crew served weapon disguised as a revolver so a "gun bearer" might be in order...

I gotta go with the local guy in Mike Barranti...he's a hunter, a sixgunner to boot, and an all around good guy. He understands "Sixgunology" from men with the last name Keith, Skelton, Cooper, and Goerg.

Make no mistake, he is the best out there, don't trust me, take a look around in the sixgun world of those that demand THE BEST. You'll hear "Barranti" more than any other. See for yourself. Call him and talk guns if you like. He's in Plum, Pa just North of the 'Burgh. He will create you an heirloom quality piece that will serve you in the hunting field, on the trail, or even at a good BBQ. www.Barrantileather.com
