Handgun safe

I have been thinking about getting a new handgun safe for my bedroom. The one I have is good, it is the 4 button sequence safe but after I saw this one in the new American I am seriously thinking about buying one and selling my present one.

Re: Handgun safe

I have one with the biometric fingerprint lock as well as four button code. I hear some guys say they are unreliable but I have found the exact opposite. I am in and out of it a dozen or more times a day and don't recall one failure to open. Usually about 3 seconds to read the print and unlock. It will hold three or four pistols and has a shelf to separate things
My wife and I both recorded two fingers in the memory. It's not heavy duty but it is secure to keep the kids out and my daily carries in without getting in the big safe. Cabelas had it on sale for $130 when I got it along with a coupon.

John
It looks like a very good product, the only draw back for me is the fact that you need another key fob or swipe card, I have enough trouble finding my car keys I personally like the finger print access types .I do like the angle they present the firearm to your hand.

Re: Handgun safe

John,

I believe we have the same pistol safe currently. What is the upside you see with this Hornady safe, the RFID bracelet, or the way the gun is presented? Trying to justify the $250 price tag over what I currently have. The bracelet thing is pretty slick.

Re: Handgun safe

Just faster access in the dark. I would have to try one to see if it is.

Well, there's one of the DUMBEST disclaimers from a handgun safe manugacturer I've seen. Sooooo, after you fumble around in the dark getting the safe open, you can fumble around even longer trying to load it.

Re: Handgun safe

Unfortunately, in todays litigious society with an overpopulation of attorneys they have to do that to protect themselves from being sued.

Re: Handgun safe

I'm quite sure this....

"*IMPORTANT: Do not store loaded firearms in any safe."

... is stamped on the safe by Hornady with tongue firmly planted in cheek, and a wink-wink to go with it.

If you get to try one let me know if you see value in the upgrade.
