It's almost as good of ideal as Obamacare!

Re: Smart Gun

the idea is there, just needs some work. I think for LEO's smart guns would be the way to go, but they would have to be just about perfect. Nothing worse than hearing about Guys getting shot with there own guns. It would deff solve that problem.

I don't get it. I see this as a possible safety device. There might be someone with children in the house that fells uncomfortable with keeping a loaded gun in a draw. Not everyone is comfortable with guns but would like something for protection. This might give them that piece of mind.
Where does this undermined the 2nd Amendment it just a safety device. Now if they legislated everyone must have this I would agree and I don't put it past them.
Happy Shooting

Re: Smart Gun

The cost alone is prohibitive for the average gun owner.

The advocates intend to mandate their use.

"Lawmakers around the country have been intrigued by the possibilities. New Jersey passed a hotly contested law in 2002 requiring that only smart guns be sold in the state within three years of a smart gun being sold anywhere in the country. A similar measure made it through the California Senate last year, and at the federal level, Rep. John F. Tierney (D-Mass.) also has introduced a mandate."

Laws like this can only pass with the help of lawful gun owners who are deceived into thinking that they are part of the problem.

Re: Smart Gun

Just another part to fail or malfunction and if a battery dies it is a paperweight. Bad idea for LEOs working in all sorts of conditions.

Re: Smart Gun

I'm sure that todays LEO's would take comfort in carrying a firearm with a computer designed by the geniuses that designed the Obamacare Website.

Re: Smart Gun
